Simon Peart's completion of Venice Marathon
Contributing to The Wilde Group's annual charity Northamptonshire & Warwickshire Air Ambulance this month, Simon Peart successfully completed the Venice Marathon.
Simon said:
''I managed to complete it in 4hrs and 14mins, I can’t claim it was in any style, all I can say is I completed the distance and received a medal. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. For all of you doubting Thomas’s out there that were waiting to see if I did it or not, before parting with your hard earned cash, please feel free to visit www.justgiving.com/SimonPeart, where you are still able to sponsor me. At the moment I have raised about £1200 it would be great to get it to £1500. Thanks again for your kind support'' |

The Wilde Group celebrates the award of the Achilles accreditation and an improvement on the previous years’ scores.
Following a two day audit at Head Office and a site visit the Wilde Group has been awarded the Achilles accreditation and received recognition for its commitment to health, safety, quality and the environment. This award has stringent requirements with regard to policies and procedures and focuses on how that information is communicated through the workforce. Some of the comments received were:
- The company has developed a good standard policy which covers the relevant areas. It has also developed a health and safety management system. The health and safety policy statement shows commitment and the management system implements that commitment. The commitment is continued within the activities on site.
- Site responsibilities were clearly defined and appropriate, and employees were involved in the continual improvement of health and safety through a number of methods such as monitoring, reporting accidents, incidents, near misses and training.
- The company are aware of their obligations to the health and welfare of their employees and take appropriate measures.
- Introduction of comprehensive job packs and re-vitalising their near miss reporting procedures demonstrates their commitment to continuous improvement. The acceptance of, and adherence to, the company's significantly improved Health and Safety systems and procedures illustrates the commitment of site personnel to continuous improvement.
Overall we have improved by the following percentages:
| |
Overall systems and procedures |
On site |
| Health and safety |
11% increase |
15% increase |
| Environment |
14% increase |
6% increase |
This accreditation compliments those already held by the Group – Constructionline and Chas - and demonstrates our commitment to health, safety and the environment. |
