The Wilde Group History
The Wilde Group Ltd (originally Country Estate Maintenance) was founded back in the early 1970’s. Back then the business was family led employing 3 people undertaking Stonewalling, Tree work and Fencing.
1985 was a significant date in the company’s history when the present MD of the Wilde Group Ltd Silas Wilde took the reins from his late father at the age of 17. Silas recalls the first few years were about survival and through finding his feet the business direction was to concentrate on providing fencing. Known back then as CEM Fencing, the business supplied and installed fencing for house builders in the upcoming new towns of Milton Keynes and Peterborough.
This early success led to the market place becoming saturated, so the strategy morphed into the security fencing market. By the late 90’s the success of this strategy led to the need to form a metal fabrication arm to manufacture fencing and gates in house, all to offer the customer a faster and more efficient service. Expansion led to the acquisition of a fabrication company (NRG Fabrications) which in turn created new opportunities in Architectural Metalwork. In 2005 the business acquired a timber business (HFS Timber) allowing the 3 businesses to move onto one site at the present location of Harlestone Firs. .
2008, To counteract the start of the recession, the Wilde Group embarked upon a strategy of consolidation, individual company names were dropped and divisions merged into one offering a one-stop shop for Integrated Construction Solution (ICS)
Today, the Wilde Group has built its reputation with our loyal and skilled work force and continues to develop its offering to new and existing clients through ICS, striving to provide an excellent quality product along with high standards of customer care.
